Gemaholics.com
was conceived in Tucson, Arizona in February 2001 by John
and Donna Rhoads of D&J Rare Gems,
Ltd,
of Salida, Colorado, as a vehicle to promote the finest and most exceptional
gems in the world to those
whom gems are more than just a business. Recognizing that those in
this business are there either solely to make money or because that
have a passion for gems, this site is designed for those whose interest
in gems is more than the bottom line of profit.
The gems listed on this site represent some
of the finest
available. The information contained on each page tells as much
about the gem represented on it as possible. The images taken
for the most part are as they appear under indirect daylight
with the exception of cat's eye and stars. Color change gems
are presented as they appear under daylight and also under incandescent
light whenever possible. None of the gems
are color enhanced using a computer although filters on most digital camera
can
affect the appearance of a gem particularly blues, green, and
purples.
The gems currently listed on this website
are from the inventory
of D&J Rare Gems, Ltd., however, the site is open to submissions
from other sources for a fee. Contact
D&J Rare Gems, Ltd.,
if you are interested in listing some of your gems on this site.
We will be updating this site on a regular
basis by adding
new gems and removing those that have sold. Check
the date at
the top of this page to see if there have been changes since
the last time you visited the site. Should you have any questions,
suggestions, concerns, or comments feel free to contact
us.
We look forward to hearing from you and sharing
your passion
for gems.
